Officers’ Reports

President:
The meeting commenced at 12:23 PM. 

Tristan Boren resigned as League Director, and David Harvey temporarily assumed the role. The San Francisco Deaf Club is donating $2,500 to our club, pending the completion of the MOU for the tax ID number from the Deaf Counseling, Advocacy & Referral Agency (DCARA).

Disc Golf and Golf, hosted by Associate Family Teachers and Counseling this year, have been canceled due to scheduling conflicts.

– A Women’s League will be held next month (October) and again in March. Let’s show our support!
– Volunteers are needed for the CA26 event. Those who volunteer will earn points for the leaderboard.

Vice President:
I have been assisting the League Director in preparing for CA26. Additionally, I am managing the club’s inventory and coordinating with the Disc Golf Association for CA26.

Secretary:
– Membership for Season 7: 58 members

Event Updates

Sabertooth 5:
– Location: Escalon
– $250 donated by Parodi Charitable
– Mally Ramborger will design the disc stamp. The event is likely to occur in early January.

California Classic:
– David Harvey is securing two possible locations in Monterey: CSUMB Oaks or CSUMB Cypress Disc Golf Course.
– Event date: March 2024

League Director:
David Harvey, temporarily filling the League Director role, announced the following event dates:
– October: Jarashow at Boulder Creek
– November: Clint Dickinson at Shady Oak
– December: Rush at Mt. Taylor

Media:
Sharif Rashied reported that the club’s website was down due to a domain ownership issue, which has been resolved. The club now owns the domain.

Motions

1. Monthly Poll for League Events
  – Proposed by Grace, seconded by Varma.
  – Amended by David Harvey to allow the Tournament Director to decide dates.
  – Withdrawn due to conflict with League Director guidelines.

2. Custom Club Shirt for Membership Gift 2024
  – Proposed by Adam Jarashow for $20 per shirt from Kevin Bishop’s business.
  – Aye: 12, Nay: 4 — Motion passed.

3. Back-to-Back Time Slots for 9-Basket Courses
  – Proposed by Tan Nguyen, seconded by Carly Carbin.
  – Aye: 7, Nay: 9 — Motion failed.

4. Remove Handicap Points Older Than 3 Years
  – Proposed by Sharif Rashied, seconded by Nathan Boyes.

5. Club Responsibility for CA26 Opening Ceremony
