League Tournament Director of the Month Guidelines 

League Director selects TD of the month based on criteria: 

  • Current Sabertooth club member
  • Has not hosted monthly for over 12 months 
  • Has knowledge of the course 
  •  The criteria can be removed if there is no new TD interest. 

Course selection criteria: 

  • The course has not been played in the past 12 months (except Golden Gate Park) 
  • 1 to 3 9-hole courses per season is encouraged
  • Once a season for players to pay course fees 
  • Up to 20 holes is allowed per league event 
  • Course should be well marked and informative 
  • Able to set up on UDisc 

TD of the month is expected to: 

  • First meeting with the League Director in person or via video chat. (ASL meeting mandatory)
  • Communicate with the league director frequently:
    • Planned card lineups
    • Layout Changes- Tee or Basket locations
    • Mando Add on
    • (optional) Closest To Pin assignment
    • Current Ace pot- Check with Treasurer
  • Walk through the course for ideas
  • Contact the local club leaders via facebook / Udisc / dgcoursereview.com. Group chat with the league director. 
  • Review Deaf Events schedules such as Bay Area Poker Series, Deaf Expo, and CSD athletics schedule. 
  • (Optional) Conduct Poll of the event date- TD is to provide 2 best possible dates for members to vote on. 
  • Create ASL vlog announcement of the event (2 weeks prior to the event)
  • Create Flyer- If unable to do so then let League director know (Club Officers provide support as last resort) (post immediately after prior event has completed) 
  • (Optional) Closest to The Pin (CTP) prize is provided by TD of the month
  • (Optional) Caddy Book, Drone Shots, Second round (no points to leaderboard) 

Select location for post league event:

  • Local Spot- Close to Course
  • Reasonably priced
  • Good selections of drinks 
  • Roomy and deaf friendly 
  • Have outside dining option 

Day of the event:

  • Collect tags with League Director / Assigned Officer support with record taking
  • Make sure players have paid fee- Treasurer verifies
  • Presentation at the beginning of the event 
    • Course information such as Out of Bounds and Hazards 
    • Shotgun or Train Format (must announce tiebreaker)
      • Backwards based on assigned hole
      • Total score 1-9 holes 
      • Number of Birdies
      • Least amount of Bogeys
    •  If train- Tiebreaker starts at 18 and back
  • Announce card lineups 
    • Follow Bag tag order (default) 
      • Regular or Reverse order
    • Random Drawing
      • In person or on Facebook Live video
      • Send E-blast if Facebook live video  
    • Any new or unique ideas check with the League Director.
  • Be prepared to resolve any Provisional disputes
    • TD of the month makes the final decision 
      • League director provides support as needed 

Post Event:

  • Distribute bag tags
    •  Check tiebreaker format first 
    •  Document bag tags- Assigned officer provides support 
  • Scoring on google file to be fed in by league director
    • Results to be verified by assigned club officers 
  • Score results to be shared to TD of the month
    • Vlog winner results within 48 hours of event 
    • Communicate with League Director if need more time 
  • Club officers post scores on the club website and Facebook group page.
  • (optional) Closure meeting with league director.
